SM&A congratulates Lockheed Martin
for winning a contract for system design and development of the Future Combat Systems Centralized Controller Device (CCD) for unmanned air and ground vehicles. The contract was awarded by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), teaming with The Boeing Company as the Lead Systems Integrator. The potential value for this development contract is in excess of $35 million through 2014.

SM&A congratulates Quantech
for winning a PASS IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) contract with Electronic System Center (ESC) at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts and other locations. The contract has a ceiling of $800 million over five years and the scope of work includes program management, financial management, resource management and administration. The IDIQ provides Quantech with a contract to bid all of ESC's future Advisory & Assistance Services on over 20 task orders for work across the U.S.

SM&A congratulates Stratos Mobile Networks
for being the recipients of an award from the GSA of the Satellite Services-II (SATCOM-II) IDIQ contract. Under its contract, Stratos will provide transport services, applications services and design, engineering and maintenance services for the SATCOM program.

SM&A congratulates APL, the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory
for winning a phase A contract for the Mars Organic Molecule Analyzer (MOMA). This instrument will investigate organic molecular signatures and the environment in which they exist using a mass spectrometer and gas chromatograph.

SM&A congratulates Austal USA
a leading supplier of aluminum ships to the United States Navy, for winning a contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to complete its recovery from Hurricane Katrina and significantly improve its infrastructure. Austal will begin construction immediately on new buildings that will be the cornerstone of the modernization of its facilities in Mobile, Alabama.

SM&A congratulates DRS Technologies Electronic Systems Inc.
for winning two contracts for Phase I preliminary design of the Common Enterprise Display System (CEDS) from the Naval Sea Systems Command. The first award is for the display console element of CEDS. The second is for the medium screen and remote displays element. CEDS is a family of display systems which will provide the Navy's enterprise display solution on Navy surface ships, submarines and aircraft with potential for US Marine Corps and Allied use.

SM&A congratulates Lockheed Martin
for winning a $619 million contract from the Missile Defense Agency to begin production of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Weapon System. The contract for the first two THAAD fire units includes 48 interceptors, six launchers and two fire control and communication units. THAAD is designed to defend US troops, Allied forces, population centers and critical infrastructure against short to intermediate range ballistic missiles. The system is scheduled for fielding in fiscal 2009.

SM&A congratulates Smiths Detection Inc.
for winning part of a $113 million competitive award from the US Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Domestic Nuclear Detection Office to enhance detection of radiological materials at the nation's ports of entry. The next-generation handheld devices will bring faster and more reliable means to detecting and identifying radioactive materials at US ports.
