Our Approach
Once a new project has been awarded, the proper EVM tools, practices and processes all need to be integrated into a comprehensive system for both the project team and corporate management to effectively execute that project. To support our clients in quickly establishing such an environment, SM&A employs a simple but powerful approach to each EVMS consulting "engagement" which is a time tested methodology that has led to unique "scaled" solutions for each of our clients.
Our EVMS Engagement process has four phases:
1.  Discovery

Understand the end objectives, assess what is working and why, determine what is missing, and define EVM system architecture requirements.

2.  Design

Drill down into the project-specific requirements to establish a detailed design of the required EVMS practices and processes, tools and supporting information technology structure.

3.  Development

Produce an integrated suite of tools, procedures and training materials designed to fulfill the project-specific objectives related to EVMS and sound project management.

4.  Deployment

Implement the developed EVMS products, train the project management team/practitioners, analyze results, and establish an environment to support continuous process improvement.

Our scalable approach can be adapted to projects of all types, sizes and geographic locoations. It incorporates checks and balances to ensure that client expectations for results and quality of work are met at each phase.Most importantly, it produces cost effective, timely and meaningful results.
